Been working on this for a while now, this is the first release of our Playstation Home store browser available here:

http://www.alphazone4.co.uk/store/

Would appreciate thoughts/suggestions to what to add. I've got some ideas what will be implemented next, however I would be interested to know what people are more interested in seeing.

One idea would be to create a 'back' button …………… lolLaugh  and for the rewards page, you could give a brief walkthrough on how to get each item…

What do you mean by a back button out of curiousity?

The "breadcrumb trail" is designed to let you go back to the previous categories.

You could:
1st: Do a back button
2nd: In each reward page be a button thay sayas "Walkthrough"
3rd: Put a picture of the home symbol in "Home Rewards" btton
4th: Put the some photos where there are people wearing those clothes and pictures of the inside of the houses to appear when you click it's button.
5th: Change the backgroun or at lest create others and let the people chose it (like the EU and America option)

Thank you for your time!

PS:In case you don't remember I have talked to you in the Expert Maze before!!!Xi

Xi is over… But not our Home quest for adventure!

I'll address these one-by-one:

1) Currently being implemented :)

2) We haven't got many walkthroughs yet, so we can't link to them! We've added some to the Transformers section though. So, already been implemented ;)

3) Seems sensible enough, see what we can do

4) This was already being planned in the future ;)

5) If anyone can produce a background that fits that size, I'd be happy to implement a background choice system :)

At some point I'm going to improve it so that clicking on items will open a panel in the middle of the screen giving more details (user-submitted photos and tutorials etc.)

At the moment, I'm insanely busy and working on getting other parts of the website into beta. Keep suggestions coming though, I can start making a decent list of priorities.

Hi Cubehouse,

Great start on the store! However, I noticed two big errors regarding costume parts (actually, one big error and one omission), as follows:

  • inFAMOUS Reaper Gloves [Error] — You show the incorrect image for the Reaper gloves. The short brown gloves with the golden band (as currently shown) are a default set of gloves that everyone starts out Home with. The correct Reaper gloves are a very dark brown color (nearly black) with long thick attached padded wrist bands — their combined length covers half the forearm (wear a short sleeve t-shirt to properly see them). Also, the back of the gloves have three dark "ridges" across them (hard to see unless you put them on, grab an object in your apartment, and zoom up close to them). Gotta be careful to not confuse these with the similar Ghostbuster gloves or others (they're like the Helghast gloves but much longer and padded).
  • Echochrome Arcade Game [Missing Costume Items] — Both the male and female full-body costumes are missing the "Echochrome Costume (Arms)" items. These are off-white gloves that are very short and perfectly smooth, fitting in with the look/color of the other costume pieces. In fact, instead of gloves, it looks as if your avatar's hands were dipped in an off-white paint.

Hope this info helps!

Also, depending upon how accurate you wish to be, you are missing the "correct" names for quite a few Home reward items (the actual reward item names as they appear when you reach an achievement or enter a promotional code). For example, the "Echochrome Trophy" is actually entitled the "Echochrome Decoration Item"; "Echochrome Torso Male" / "Echochrome Torso Female" are both correctly entitled "Echochrome Costume (Top)"; and so forth.

I've been keeping a full listing of all the items I've obtained in both my US and UK accounts, with the correct item names, description (if given), dates first available, how they were obtained, etc.. If you're interested, I'll be happy to provide you with a copy of my listings so you can improve the accuracy of your infomation … just pop me an email address via PM.

And before I forget, thanks for maintaining such an outstanding website!

Regards….

Thank you very much for your feedback, I've found the Echochrome gloves on my "where on earth did these items come from?" list :) We have some major issues trying to sort gloves, we're pretty confused by them all! We thought we had them all in the right place, but maybe we got them a bit wrong :P

Maybe we've got some in the Helghast section that should be inFAMOUS and also the watchmen had some odd gloves as well… will have to investigate and sort out.

If you have a list of all the official item names, then it would be a great help and you can pop it to my email at cubehouse@alphazone4.co.uk

Many Many Thanks,

Cubehouse

I definitely understand your misery — trying to remember which gloves are which is a nightmare (same goes for some shoes). Sony would do all Home users a great favor by labelling all the wardrobe items, similar to how the "redecorate apartment" items are done. It would make it SO much easier to find our clothing and put together our costumes if we knew what we were selecting (and had a larger preview of the item).

Before I wrote my previous posting, I did go through your entire store and examined all the glove images — Ghostbusters, Resistance, Resident Evil 5, various Killzones, Watchman, etc.. Aside from the aforementioned "inFAMOUS Reaper Hands", all the other glove images appear to be absolutely correct!

As for the "inFAMOUS Reaper Hands", the reason I know the correct gloves is because I finally entered my Reaper Costume Codes for both my US and UK accounts earlier today! Long-ish story… I won a contest for a Reaper Costume a couple weeks back, but it turned out the code was UK only (not region-free as we were led to believe). I tried to trade my code for a working US code from Sony, which was a nightmare attempt and went nowhere. Instead, an acquaintance at Sucker Punch went through a week of detective work hell, hitting the phones, searching leads, calling in favors, trying to find a costume code. In the end, she somehow managed to obtain a single "hopefully working" code. (It did work, plus I could keep & use my UK code!) But you know there's something really wrong with the system somewhere if  inFAMOUS' DEVELOPER cannot get a few codes for their own game from Sony…

Anyway, after a bit of searching, I managed to locate a so-so image of the "Reaper Hands" in the wardrobe screen. (Remember, best way to be sure it's the correct pair is to wear them with a short sleeve shirt; the gloves will cover nearly half your arm and have those large padded wrist bands/guards.).

Whoops, I can't seem to insert an image here, so I'll send to your email along with a text file containing the official item names and descriptions. You'll have it all within the next day or so… it's really late/early here in Los Angeles (4:30am), and I have to do a bit of editing on the files before I can send it to you.

In any event, you are very very welcome — I'm just glad to be able to help out in some manner!

Sorry to babble on as long as I did… talk with you soon…

I like this a lot. But I think this should have the original items you have in the beginning of the game in a new category and I hope that the reward items should have more walkthrough. Even if you can't get them anymore I think they should still have a forum which tells how you would've get it and have "you can't get it anymore" somewhere.

That is correct on my Home. It must have been free at some point for us to have entered it as so. Unless Milereb was the one that entered those prices and it is for some reason free in other areas of the EU.

Hi Cubehouse!

Just wanted to drop you a quick line here with an update on that list of "official item names" (descriptions, and more) that I promised to send your way.

I absolutely didn't forget about you — I've unfortunately been busy dealing with some of those nasty things life occasionally throws your way (or in my case, more than occasionally). The day after I last wrote you, one of my closest friends, Tim, lost his year-long battle with (what started out as) esophageal cancer and passed away; a nightmare, as I'm sure you can imagine, and one still continuing… especially for his wife, Sarah (whom we're even closer to; we've been friends longer than we can remember). She'd been taking care of him constantly for the past few months, barely got any sleep, and was run down beyond ragged… so when the end came, it wasn't entirely real and was somewhat a relief that his suffering was over. But now it's definitely becoming real, and… well, you know, there are those times when you really need/have to be there for your friends and loved ones, and especially those times when you really WANT to be there as well.

In addition, I've got my own hell that I deal with on a regular basis. Don't think I ever told you, but I'm chronically ill and permanently disabled thank to this nasty genetic disease that decided to nail me one day eleven years ago (Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome, or VHL). I've come very close to meeting my maker several times now thanks to the direct VHL-related issues + other side effects that popped up over the years (like kidney cancer; my ENTIRE left kidney was, um, converted over to a cancer mass)  *ugh*) — and there have absolutely been some times that I wished I was gone. I'm obviously still around somehow, but my war has left me with massive amounts of nerve damage (most people have no clue what real pain is…), severe chronic pain, some limbs and other areas that are completely numb and useless (if I can't feel them, why do they still hurt?), some missing organs,  more surgeries than I can even recall now (esp. spinal cord surgeries), and topped with all sorts of other crapola.

Anyway, I've gone downhill a bit more than expected so far this year, and the past few weeks have been very difficult for me here in Los Angeles due to our summer heat wave — heat and nerve damage don't mix (the hotter it gets, the more nerves misfire, therefore the pain gets even worse), plus it causes me to just "turn off" (sometimes for only a minute, sometimes for hours; great fun if I'm talking to someone… I click off in the middle of a sentance, and continue where I left off an hour later when I wake up again).

And there's been a couple other annoying average life nonsense that's gotten in the way that I won't bore you with.

I apologize again for the delay in getting that material out to you — and for all my "excuses" — but as you can see, it's been a bit hectic for us around here. I'd just about gotten my file up-to-date and ready to go; now I just have to get my notes in for last week's gigantic mess + today's update and then I'll send it your way. So it IS coming… just unavoidably delayed a bit.

Database looks terrific so far… only one really glaring mistake still remains with regard to a tile image — the Ice Breaker Snow Boots. I think I may have mentioned this before. Here in the U.S., our "Snow Boots" weren't actually boots, but are instead sneakers, and our Wardrobe Tile reflects that. It's as if the sneakers are from the same "product line" as the boot image on the tile (similar to how you'd know an Adidas's hightop blue/white boot + an Adidas's blue/white sneaker were both from the same Adidas's "Ice Breaker" line). I'll try and get you a picture so you can see for yourself. I'm not sure how if it's the same for the EUR version (I haven't tried to win my EUR Ice Breaker goodies yet), but you may wish to check your own Wardrobe tile and see if it's really a boot, or sneakers like we have 'em here.  [QUICK UPDATE: I think I can get a couple of shots of the sneakers… if successful, I'll send them over via email in a little while.]

Lastly, one quick question: Is the watermarking going to appear permanently over your tile images? It's hard to tell from the way your note on the store pages is worded. The reason I'm asking is partly because the AZ4 logo interferes a bit with some tiles/images… but also because I'd created my own personal "at home" wardrobe/rewards database, so I'd know what the items I had actually were (tile shots + actual reward names). I'd been using atwiki.jp, and other sources, but when your terrific tile images appeared, I quickly replaced my shoddy atwiki.jp (and other) tiles. Will it be possible for us to see them without the watermarking again at some point? Alternately, if you really require the watermarking (due to other websites ripping off your work), is there some way you could program the store to "turn off" watermarking for certain registered users? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Well, once again I've written too much… again, my apologies on the delay of the Reward Names listing; I hate making excuses, but I do hope you understand the rather unpleasant predicament I've found myself caught up in recently.

Talk to you soon!

Best regards,

BaronBrain

Will look into the Ice Breaker boots at some point, however I do believe we have full boots and not sneakers in the EU, will need to confirm.

The timings of when the watermarks will be on/off are deliberately vague. However, they will not be turning off in the near future. We've put our url on hotlinks, but people would still print screen our content and never give any credit or support to the people who spent a long time compiling them. I don't want them to be watermarked, but at the moment I have no choice until people stop.

Sorry for long delay, been on holiday ;)

Just an update:

  • Large images are now available on objects that support it. If you click the "i" icon on items, you will sometimes see a larger image of the object when available.
  • Items are still missing! I still need 2 of the RE5 statues, some female SF4 shirts and some of the female shirts from the Namco Essentials full game (which I've nearly completed cataloguing, just isn't live yet)
  • I've also released a PS3 friendly version of the catalogue, which is available at the PS3 AZ4 homepage: http://ps3.alphazone4.co.uk
